COCOON Freelancer - Free of Glue, Chemicals, and Plastic: A Mobile Living Space Redefining Sustainability and Van Life

Munich, Germany, 2025-01-06 – AttiaDesign unveils COCOON-Freelancer, a groundbreaking mobile living space designed for modern professionals and adventurers who prioritize sustainability, independence, and minimalism.

Pure, Chemical-Free Living

COCOON-Freelancer embodies a commitment to sustainable living, crafted entirely from wood without the use of chemicals, glue, or plastics. This ensures the purest indoor environment, promoting a healthy, eco-friendly lifestyle. Designed for those seeking a refuge from conventional living, COCOON offers a sanctuary where the natural materials foster a harmonious, sustainable home.

Moon-Wood Inspired by Tradition

Inspired by traditional Alpine houses and Japanese temples that have withstood the test of time, COCOON-Freelancer uses moonwood—a timber harvested according to lunar cycles during the coldest months. This method ensures optimal durability, resistance to insects, mold, and deformation, while eliminating the need for chemical preservatives. The result is a wood that’s not only stronger but 100% recyclable, making it an environmentally conscious choice for modern mobile living.

Drivable with a Standard B License

Weighing under 3.5 tons (including vehicle and luggage), COCOON-Freelancer is designed for mobility and can be driven with a standard B driving license. This weight-optimized, minimalist design makes it perfect for freelancers, creatives, and nomads, offering the freedom and flexibility of mobile living without compromising on comfort or sustainability.

Transformable and Efficient Design

The interior features a transformative bed-lounge-workspace, efficient storage solutions, a TinyStove, a gas kitchen, and a stainless-steel water system—all crafted with a focus on organic, plastic-free materials. COCOON-Freelancer’s design maximizes functionality, providing an adaptable space for both living and working on the go.

Health and Comfort Benefits

• Free Release of Harmful VOCs: The untreated wood ensures no toxic emissions, promoting a healthier indoor atmosphere.

• Breathable Walls: The untreated wood naturally prevents mold and fogging windows, improving air quality and maintaining a fresh indoor environment.

• Electrosmog Shielding: Tests show that COCOON’s wood walls and specialized windows block significant EMF radiation, reducing exposure to harmful electrosmog and promoting better recovery and sleep.

• Natural Daylight Rhythm: COCOON-Freelancer fosters a natural sleep-wake cycle, helping to regulate hormones and enhance well-being.

Weather Protection

• The wood develops a natural gray patina over time, making it resistant to weather, protecting it from water and sun rays.

• Smart wood arrangement prevents water absorption and deterioration, while also eliminating the need for exterior screws, ensuring longevity and minimal maintenance.

Technical Features

• Integrated Dilatation Joints: These allow the wood to expand and contract without compromising its structure, ensuring stability and preventing cracking.

• Light Safety Vacuum Glass: Achieving exceptional insulation values, this innovative glass is six times thinner and lighter than standard triple-layer glass, enhancing both energy efficiency and space usage.

• Renewable Exterior Facade: The facade can be easily renewed to maintain its aesthetic and protective qualities over time.

• Disassemble and Reassemble: The interior can be easily disassembled with hand-tightened nuts, allowing it to be reconfigured or unloaded by a single person.

• Solar-Powered Roof: Equipped with solar panels, the roof generates over 900W, ensuring sustainability and energy independence.

Testament to Sustainability

COCOON-Freelancer exemplifies AttiaDesign’s dedication to sustainability, with every design and construction element reflecting a deep respect for nature and a commitment to building a more sustainable future.
