Villa Esencia, crafted by ELE Interior, presents a refined vision of modern living nestled in the lush enclave of Al Barari. Designed for a family seeking a balance between understated luxury and functional elegance, the villa seamlessly combines contemporary design with the natural beauty of its surroundings. The interior features natural materials, a muted color palette, and an intuitive flow, fostering a tranquil, immersive environment. With a central courtyard that invites light and greenery, the villa creates an inspiring connection between indoor and outdoor spaces.
Concept
Rooted in modern aesthetics, Villa Esencia embraces a neutral color palette and curated natural materials. The design’s theme revolves around seamlessly integrating architecture and nature, fostering a sophisticated yet inviting atmosphere that promotes comfort and refined living.
Design Elements
The kitchen stands as a statement with its striking Taj Mahal quartzite island and countertops, setting the tone for a cohesive material selection throughout the home. Travertine-effect porcelain cladding defines the central courtyard, enhancing its architectural prominence and connecting it to the natural landscape. At the heart of the villa, an open-air sanctuary courtyard invites natural light and greenery into the home, establishing continuity between the indoor and outdoor environments.
Execution
The villa underwent a comprehensive reconfiguration of its second floor, transforming two standard bedrooms into a bespoke master suite. This expansive retreat includes a dual en-suite configuration, his-and-hers bathrooms, and a custom walk-in wardrobe, optimizing functionality and indulgence. New flooring, luxury fabric-lined wall treatments, and bespoke joinery throughout the villa elevate its sophistication. The travertine porcelain cladding extends beyond the courtyard, enriching the villa’s surfaces. A significant structural modification involved the closure of the double-height void in the family area, allowing for a dedicated playroom on the first floor.
Ambience
The atmosphere in Villa Esencia balances understated opulence with contemporary refinement. The harmonious blend of natural textures and tailored finishes fosters a luxurious yet livable environment, ensuring the residence is both aspirational and deeply personal.
Challenges Overcome
One of the primary design challenges was working within the constraints of the existing villa layout while achieving a fluid spatial arrangement that met the client’s aspirations. Integrating distinct zones without compromising openness required meticulous planning and execution.
Key Features
The feature courtyard at the heart of the villa serves as both a visual and experiential anchor, felt throughout the kitchen, living areas, private office, and upper levels. This central element reinforces the villa’s biophilic design, creating a continuous dialogue between architecture and nature. The dining experience is enhanced by a bespoke natural travertine dining table, an artisanal statement piece that complements the villa’s material narrative.
