“Kohler Unveils Cutting-Edge Bathroom Innovations at Salone del Mobile 2024”

On March 12, 2024, in Kohler, Wisconsin, Kohler Co., the global leader in kitchen and bath products, returned to the Salone del Mobile with a remarkable presentation showcasing the diverse design palette of its brands Kohler, Kallista, Kast, and Klafs. This year, Kohler collaborated with the esteemed global design studio Yabu Pushelberg to craft an environment that transcends the ordinary, inviting visitors on an enthralling journey where art, design, technology, and wellness converge.

“Kohler Co.’s brands offer a comprehensive range of designs, product categories, and technologies to bring design visions to life through complete specification support. Our focus on design leadership and product innovation comes to life through this multi-brand presentation, celebrating the forward-thinking creativity of the world’s top architects, designers, and developers,” says Larry Yuen, president of Kohler International Group. “With shared values in creating immersive experiences and compelling designs, Yabu Pushelberg is a natural partner for Kohler Co.’s stand at this year’s Salone del Mobile.”

Inspired by Kohler’s rich heritage, the designed façade evokes the movement of water, guiding visitors through a captivating exploration of form, texture, and light. The Kohler, Kallista, Kast, and Klafs brands are presented through a series of interconnected curved spaces showcasing the latest in innovation, design, and wellness, from elegant faucets and accessories to luxurious bathtubs, futuristic showers, and uncompromising saunas. Each vignette is carefully choreographed to highlight the perfect integration of form and function, demonstrating Kohler Co.’s unwavering commitment to craftsmanship and quality.

“We are delighted to partner with Kohler Co., leaders in innovative design solutions at the 2024 Salone del Mobile, and debut our first stand design in Milan. We wanted to create a stand with presence and, together, we designed a world where luxury meets purpose and innovation harmonizes with wellness,” explain George Yabu and Glenn Pushelberg, founding partners of Yabu Pushelberg.

Through advanced technologies, sophisticated designs, immersive experiences, and a rich tapestry of color, material, finish, and pattern, Kohler Co.’s brands enable architects and designers to create the spaces that define our world.

Technology and Wellness

Much of the exhibition emphasizes the links between technology, design, and wellness in the modern bathroom. The KOHLER Anthem digital shower system + controls and valves, which allow users to control their shower experience from water supply and temperature to steam, along with the Kohler x SR_A Formation 02 smart toilet, lead the technological solutions that enhance the bathroom experience.

Kohler also unveils a product concept, the Numi 2.0 smart toilet with e-ink integration, allowing toilet surfaces to display vibrant colors and customizable patterns, making the toilet resemble more like a cutting-edge dynamic art installation.

KLAFS, a global leader in sauna manufacturing, showcases a collaboration with Studio F. A. Porsche in its striking limited-edition standalone S11 sauna with an elegant champagne-colored metallic cladding and a traditional Japanese Washi paper wall that creates a warm organic feeling of infinite space.

Material and Color

Kohler presents the Rista Vessel bathroom sink—an innovative 3D-printed marvel—combining digital technology with traditional craftsmanship to set a new industry standard. Crafted in small batches by skilled artisans, the vitreous china sinks promise unparalleled quality and uniqueness.

Introducing two new faucet finishes—Kohler’s Brushed Graphite and Kallista’s Polished Graphite—marrying industrial chic with understated luxury, offering a rich, contemporary finish option for premium faucet collections in bathrooms and kitchens alike. Kallista’s new Guise faucet collection ingeniously melds bold rectangular forms with intricate transitions, creating a distinctive and sculptural design statement.

Kohler has expanded its Heritage Colors collection with a new selection of three archive green tones—Fresh Green (1971), Aspen Green (1978), and Teal (1987)—inspired by nature and available exclusively in some of Kohler’s most iconic designs.

The KastWave concrete sink collection offers a fresh perspective on bathroom design, drawing inspiration from Italian Radicalism and Postmodernism movements, with whimsical silhouettes and undulating forms infusing creative energy and delight into bathrooms. The KastHolm sink design, inspired by the classic allure of terrazzo, blends speckled aesthetics with tactile concrete, emphasizing understated elegance and dynamic textures.

Kallista debuts the Bandeau Artistic Shower collection, taking cues from women’s headbands, with metal band or textured stone decorations adorning the perimeter of the showerhead, striking a balance between artistry and sculpture.
